Student Council Report - Student Council Presidents
- Aleena and Saanvi co-presidents
- Club Fair just happened last Friday at lunch to see options
- Application for gr. 9 reps for student council coming soon
- If your student wants to see something happen this year stop by to see co-presidents
- Opened Club Status Approval form found in display case in atrium to start a new club
- Moving cashless - using School Cash Online for bake sales, events etc
- Student Activity Fee is important to fund clubs and events - if you haven’t paid please consider paying - will have discounts to things like prom, yearbook - and will also receive an SPC card which can be used for discounts at stores and food establishments
- Student Activity helps to keep other costs down - like busing to school sports -there is no fundraising from school council at high school

Officers
- Each council must have a chair or co-chairs. - chair calls for agenda items for each meeting
- Can also have a treasurer or secretary
- Candidates for the position of chair/co-chair must be parent/guardian/family members and not employed by the Board.
- Council members elect the executive positions.
- Elected executive positions must be outlined in the school council constitution and/or by-laws and may consist of any number of the following: treasurer, minute taker, fundraising committee chair, Active School Travel committee chair, as examples.

Teacher Report - L. Taccone
- Gr. 9’s off to a great start
- Peer Tutoring is being revamped but will be coming
- SERTS are connecting with students and parents to complete the new IEPs for the year - they will come home on Oct. 15, but teachers do see the accommodations from last year
- Europe Trip over Easter / Passover - Oct 16 there will be a virtual meeting for those signed up and / or still interested in going.

- Parking lot
- Changes to student pick up after school - a lot of traffic at the front of the school and creating a safety hazard
- Students can no longer be picked up in the bus loop at the front of the school
- Please use North or West lot (and please do not block cars that are already parked)
- Safety Week
- Lockdown, Hold and Secure and Fire Drills coming next week, - see calendar for dates
- Caring and Safe Schools assemblies were held last week
- Parking Passes for students - they must see one of the VPs before getting a parking pass
- Take Your Kids to Work Day - Nov. 5 - Gr.9’s out job shadowing - no regular classes for gr.9’s that day
- Oct. 16 - Awards Assembly from last year
- New School Social Worker - here twice a week to support students
